Secure Technology Hawaii began in 1984 in the heart of Silicon Valley in Northern California where STHI co-founder Mike Walder was developing ultra high-performance electronic warfare solutions to protect our military from real-world threats. At the same time, co-founder Duane Takamine was driving his EE professors crazy at University of Hawaii. Mike then moved to Honolulu in 1989 and he worked on various consulting projects before forming Martin, Walder & Associates in 1994 and Duane was our primary Systems Engineer. We changed our name to Secure Technology Hawaii in 1997 to better reflect our focus on security and business partner Duane Takamine became VP/CTO.
